The Friends of the Library is a non-profit group of citizens dedicated to supporting the

Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library.

JOIN THE FRIENDS!!

The Friends of the Library was organized in 1976 for the purpose of supporting the library in any endeavor in which public funds are not available. The primary fundraising effort of the FOTL is the annual used book sale. Proceeds from the annual book sale, membership funds, and community donations provide items not included in the library's annual budget.

	Carpet cleaning

	Laminate flooring behind the circulation desk
	Ramp and steps from the library parking lot

Technology Needs

	Book charging machines (before computers were used to check out books)
	Reference computer equipment and software
	Software and barcodes to convert the library catalog to a computer-readable format
	Barcode scanners used to check out books
	Library cards
	Barcodes used on library cards
	Library patron application cards
	Computer desks for public access computers
	Modification of the circulation desk to accommodate computers
	Ongoing computer maintenance
